08-04-19 : Track Day Attended - Croft
A torturous 5 hr journey up to North Yorkshire preceded the first outing of the car in RSA 2008 spec’.
Having never driven at Croft before and unable to attend the pre-race official test day the following Friday, the chance to get the car out was as much to do with getting to know the nuances of the circuit as much as getting to grips with the new wide track suspension set up.
The car deliberately hadn’t been formally set up as the suspension needed to “settle” first.
Weather was fair and the track dry apart from a very short-lived shower. The first observation was one of surprise that the replacement of the windscreen with a tiny aeroscreen made so little difference. Buffeting of the helmet was hardly detectable.
The car itself didn’t feel that different to the RSB spec’ except for noticeable understeer. That could be dealt with through a different set up.
